Prince Edward Island

Rifle Association

The Prince Edward Island Rifle Association has been an incorporated body since 1861, making it the oldest governing sporting organization on the Island.  It has held and sanctioned competitions continuously since that date with the exception of the war years of 1914-1918 and 1939-1945.  During the first 100 years members used military rifles and shot in service conditions.  Today the single shot target rifle bears little resemblance to its military forebears.  Recently, F-Class style shooting has been added and  this has been our fastest growing area of membership.

Saturday the 16th and Sunday the 17th are the Inter-maritime Team Matches.  Team members only will be shooting.  All Association members are welcome to assist with scoring or just to come and watch.

An excellent opportunity for new members to meet shooters from Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.  This is the oldest continuously contested match in North America and the second oldest cup.
